Production Process

1. Raw Material Selection

The process begins with the selection of high-quality raw materials, typically steel wire rods. These rods are chosen based on the specific requirements of the fasteners, such as tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and durability.

2. Wire Drawing

The selected steel wire rods are then drawn through a series of dies to reduce their diameter to the required size. This process, known as wire drawing, enhances the material’s strength and uniformity, preparing it for further processing.

3. Cold Heading

In the cold heading process, the wire is cut into specific lengths and formed into the desired shape using high-speed, multi-station cold heading machines. This process involves:

  • Heading: The blanks are then formed into the desired shape of the fastener head using high-pressure mechanical punches. This process ensures consistency and precision in each piece.

4. Thread Rolling

Thread rolling is a critical step where the threads are formed on the shank of the fasteners. Using advanced German and Japanese thread rolling machines, the blank fasteners are rolled between two dies to create the threads. This method ensures that the threads are precise and strong, as it improves the mechanical properties of the material.

5. Heat Treatment

The formed fasteners undergo heat treatment to enhance their mechanical properties. This step involves:

  • Hardening: Fasteners are heated in atmosphere-controlled furnaces to a high temperature and then rapidly cooled (quenched). This process increases their hardness and strength.
  • Tempering: The hardened fasteners are reheated in precision electric-controlled tempering furnaces to a lower temperature to reduce brittleness and improve toughness.

6. Surface Treatment

Surface treatment processes are applied to improve the fasteners' corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance. Common treatments include:

  • Zinc Plating: A layer of zinc is electroplated onto the fasteners to protect against rust.
  • Phosphate Coating: Provides a base for additional coatings and improves corrosion resistance.
  • Other Coatings: Such as black oxide or nickel plating, depending on customer requirements.

7. Quality Control

Quality is paramount at FB Fasteners. Rigorous testing and inspection are carried out at each stage of production to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. This includes:

  • Dimensional Checks: Using precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions.
  • Tensile Testing: To verify the mechanical strength.
  • Hardness Testing: Ensuring the correct hardness levels after heat treatment.
  • Visual Inspection: Checking for surface defects and overall appearance.

8. Packaging

Once the fasteners pass all quality control checks, they are cleaned, dried, and packaged. Packaging is done carefully to prevent damage during transportation and to ensure that the fasteners reach the customers in perfect condition.

9. Shipping

The final step is shipping the products to customers. We ensure timely and secure delivery, leveraging our well-integrated logistics network to reach clients efficiently.
